  1. At those mock rites unsanctified by fire.
  2. But we pay nought here: through our flesh, age-weighed,
  3. Left out from who gave aid

  8. That’s the old man’s match, — Ares out of place
  9. In either: but in oldest age’s case,
  10. Foliage a-fading, why, he wends his way
  11. On three feet, and, no stronger than a child,
  12. Wanders about gone wild,
  13. A dream in day.
