Beware therefore of such men; and this will be[*](The need of remaining loyal to the bishop) possible for you, if you are not puffed up, and are inseparable from God, from Jesus Christ[*](Or possibly from our God Jesus Christ.) and from the bishop and the ordinances of the Apostles.

He who is within the sanctuary is pure, but he who is without the sanctuary is not pure; that is to say whoever does anything apart from the bishop and the presbytery and the deacons is not pure in his conscience.

It is not that I know that there is any thing of[*](Warning against the snares of the devil) this kind among you, but I warn you because you are dear to me, and I foresee the snares of the devil. Therefore adopt meekness and be renewed in faith, which is the flesh of the Lord, and in love, which is the blood of Jesus Christ.
