  1. No fancy would I take of soul sleep-burthened.
CHOROS.
  1. But has there Puffed thee up some unwinged omen?
KLUTAIMNESTRA.
  1. As a young maid’s my mind thou mockest grossly.

  1. Hephaistos — sending a bright blaze from Ide.
  2. Beacon did beacon send, from fire the poster,
  3. Hitherward: Ide to the rock Hermaian
  4. Of Lemnos: and a third great torch o’ the island
  5. Zeus’ seat received in turn, the Athoan summit.
  6. And, — so upsoaring as to stride sea over,
  7. The strong lamp-voyager, and all for joyance —
  8. Did the gold-glorious splendour, any sun like,
  9. Pass on — the pine-tree — to Makistos’ watch-place;
  10. Who did not, — tardy, — caught, no wits about him,
