  1. The feet indeed and the hands’ top divisions
  2. He hid, high up and isolated sitting:
  3. But, their unshowing parts in ignorance taking,
  4. He forthwith eats food — as thou seest — perdition
  5. To the race: and then, ’ware of the deed ill-omened,
  6. He shrieked O! — falls back, vomiting, from the carnage,
  7. And fate on the Pelopidai past bearing
  8. He prays down — putting in his curse together
