or THESMO'PHOROS (Θεσμία, Θεσμοφόρος), that is, " the law-giver," a surname of Demeter and Persephone, in honour of whom the Thesmophoria were celebrated at Athens in the month of Pyanepsion (Hdt. 2.171, 6.16 ; Aristoph.
