62. PHARANITES, bishop of Pharan, belonged to the Monothelite party. He was one of those condemned by the sixth oecumenical council, held at Constantinople. We find ascribed to him a treatise περὶ οὐσίας καὶ φύσεως, ὑποστάσεώς τε καὶ προσώπου, a λόγος πρὸς Σέργιον, and another εἰς τὰς ἑρμηνείας τῶν πατρικῶν χρήδεων, some fragments of which remain.
