Europa, who had been carried off by Zeus; but she died on the expedition, and was buried by Cadmus. (Apollod. 3.1.1.) Moschus (2.42) calls her the wife of Phoenix, the son of Agenor, and the Scholiast on Euripides (Ion, 5) calls her Telephe.
