had been one of the instruments employed by Nero in the murder of his mother, and was a commander of one of the ships in the fleet off the Campanian coast, when the conspiracy of Piso against Nero was formed. From a woman of the name of Epicharis, he obtained some information respecting the plot, which he straightway communicated to Nero. (Tac. Ann. 15.51, 57.)
