Smith, William

A Dictionary of Greek and Roman biography and mythology. William Smith, LLD, ed. 1890

(Φιλοστόργιος), a physician in the time of Valentinian and Valens, in the latter half of the fourth century after Christ. He was the father of Philagrius and Posidonius, and is said to have been the chief physician of his age. (Philostorg. Hist. Eccles. 8.10.)
