C. 408, to counteract ia rival embassy from Athens, which was also proceeding thither. The envoys, however, didi not advance further than (Girdiumtt in Phrygia; for early in the next spring, B. C. 407, as they wet ret resuniii their journey, they miet another L:acedaemioniahtn embassy returning from the king, whith the intelligence that they had already obtained fromt hims all they wanted.
