3. The author of the work quoted by Pliny (Plin. Nat. 20.81), and entitled Ἐπιτομὴ τῶν Ῥιζοτομουμένων, appears to have been a different person (though sometimes reckoned as the same), and may be supposed to have been a contemporary of Cratevas in the first century B. C. (Plin. Nat. 25.4.)
