(Μαχαιρεύς), i. e. the swordsman, a son of Daetas of Delphi, who is said to have slain Neoptolemus, the son of Achilles, in a quarrel about the sacrificial meat at Delphi. (Strab. ix. p.421; Pind. N. 7.62, with the scholiast.)
