A Dictionary of Greek and Roman biography and mythology

(Μακεδόνιος), of Thessalonica, a poet of the Greek Anthology, whom Suidas (s. v. Ἀγαθίας) mentions as contemporary with Agathias and Paul the Silentiary and Tribonianus, in the time of Justinian. Suidas also calls him the Consul (τῷ ὑπάτῳ). There are altogether fortythree epigrams by him in the Anthology, most of which are of an erotic character, and in an elegant style.
