EUGENICUS (Εὐγενικός) was deacon and nomophylax of the great church at Constantinople, and brother to the celebrated Marcus or Mark Eugenicus, archbishop of Ephesus, one of the leaders of the Greeks at the councils of Ferrara and Florence (A. D. 1438-39). [EUGENICUS, M.] Joannes also attended the council, and embraced the same side as his brother. He attempted to leave Italy during its session, but was brought back.
