DRUNGARIUS, or DRUNGARIAS, or of DRUNGARIA Montfaucon gives the name Ἰωάννης τῆς Δρουγγαρίας, and expressly observes that it is so in the MS.), a contemporary of Cyril of Alexandria [CYRILLUS], and probably one of his clergy. At the instigation of Cyril he undertook a commentary on Isaiah, which is extant in MS. The Πρόλογος, Praefatio, is given by Montfaucon in his Nova Collectio Patrum, vol. ii. p. 350, and by Fabricius, Bibl. Graec. vol. viii. p. 663. Fabricius, in giving the author's name, omits the article before Δρουγγαρίας. (Montfaucon, Fabricius. ll. cc.)
