(Ἰάλυσος), a son of Cercaphus and Cydippe or Lysippe, and grandson of Helios. He was a brother of Lindus and Cameirus, in conjunction with whom he possessed the island of Rhodes, where he was regarded as the founder of the town of Ialysus. Pindar calls him the eldest among the three brothers. Olymp. 7.74, with the Schol.; Diod. 5.57; Eustath. ad Hom. p. 315.) Ialysus was represented as a hero in a very famous painting by Protogenes.
