4. A brother of the philosopher Democritus (Suid. s. v. Δημόκριτος), and perhaps the same as the one to whom Diogenes Laertius (9.34) refers in his account of Democritus. Whether he is identical with Herodotus, the author of a work Περὶ Ἐπικούρου ἐφηβείας (D. L. 10.4), cannot be decided.
