(Ἡγέλεως,) a son of Tyrsenus. Either he or Archondas is said to have given the trumpet (σάπιγξ) which had been invented by Tyrsenus to the Dorians, when, commanded by Temenns, they marched against Argos. Hence Athena at Argos was believed to have received from him the surname of σάλπιγξ. (Paus. 2.21.3.)
