King of Bithynia, the son of Bas. He reigned for forty-eight years (<date when-custom="-326">B.
       C. 326</date>-<date when-custom="-278">278</date>). He carried on successful wars with Lysimachus
      and Antiochus, the son of Selencus. (Memnon, ap. Plot. <hi rend="ital">Cod. 224,</hi> p. 228,
      ed. Bekker.) In <date when-custom="-315">B. C. 315</date> he carried on a war against Astacus and
      Chalcedon. (<bibl n="Diod. 19.60">Diod. 19.60</bibl>.) He founded a city which was called
      Zipoetium after him at the foot of Mount Lyperus. He lived to the age of seventy-six, and left
