An historical writer, of uncertain date. Stephanus of Byzantium frequently quotes from a
      work of his, entitled <title xml:lang="grc">Μακεδονικά</title> (<hi rend="ital">s. v.</hi>
      <foreign xml:lang="grc">Ἀλτος</foreign>, <foreign xml:lang="grc">Βάλλα</foreign>,
      &amp;c), as also from another entitled <title xml:lang="grc">Καρικά</title> (<hi rend="ital">s. v.</hi>
      <foreign xml:lang="grc">Κασταλία</foreign>). It is, perhaps, this same Theagenes, who
      wrote a work on Aegina, quoted by Tzetzes (<hi rend="ital">ad Lycoph. 176 ;</hi> Schol. <bibl n="Pind. N. 3.21">Pind. N. 3.21</bibl>; Clinton, <hi rend="ital">Fasti Hellen.</hi> vol. ii.
