1. Q.BaebiusTamphilus, was sent in B. C. 219, along with P. Valerius Flaccus, by the Roman senate to Hannibal at Saguntum, and afterwards proceeded to Carthage, when Hannibal would not listen to them. Tamphilus was also sent in the following year on another embassy to Carthage. (Liv. 21.6. 9, 18; Cic. Phil. 5.10.)
