      laconia (3.23.6), at Messene (4.31.5), at Mantineia (8.9. § l), at Megalopolis (8.30.5;
      comp. Aristoph. <hi rend="ital">Ran. 1433 ;</hi>
      <bibl n="Plin. Nat. 34.8">Plin. Nat. 34.8</bibl>). The sacrifices offered to him were called
       <foreign xml:lang="grc">όωτήρια</foreign>. (Plut. <hi rend="ital">Arat. 53.</hi>) 2. Of
