M. <hi rend="smallcaps">SEIUS</hi> L. F., distinguished himself by his largesses to the
      people in his curule aedileship, although he had been previously condemned to the payment of
      so great a fine that he had no longer sufficient property to entitle him to a place in the
      equestrian census. We do not know the year in which he was aedile; but Cicero says that he was
      elected in preference to M. Pupius' Piso, who was consul in <date when-custom="-61">B. C. 61</date>
       (<bibl n="Plin. Nat. 15.1">Plin. Nat. 15.1</bibl>; Cic. <hi rend="ital">de Off.</hi> 2.17,
       <hi rend="ital">pro Planc. 5</hi>). In <date when-custom="-52">B. C. 52</date> he accused M.
      Saufeius, who was defended by Cicero [<hi rend="smallcaps">SAUFEIUS</hi>, No. 2]. In the
      following year, <date when-custom="-51">B. C. 51</date>, he was involved in the condemnation of
      Plaetorius (<hi rend="ital">incendio Plaetoriano ambustus,</hi>
      <bibl n="Cic. Att. 5.20.8">Cic. Att. 5.20.8</bibl>). [<hi rend="smallcaps">PLAETORIUS</hi>,
      No. 5.] He was a friend of Atticus and Cicero, and the latter laments his death in <date when-custom="-45">B. C. 45</date>. (Ascon. <hi rend="ital">in Milon.</hi> p. 55, ed. Orelli; Varr.
