      who obtained the consulship was C. Scribonius Curio in <date when-custom="-76">B. C. 76</date>. The
      principal families in the gens are those of <hi rend="smallcaps">CURIO</hi> and <hi rend="smallcaps">LIBO</hi> ; and besides these we meet with one or two other surnames in the
