2. P.Sabinus, was appointed by Vitellius, on his accession to the empire in A. D. 69, praefect of the praetorian troops, although he was at the time only praefect of a cohort. (Tac. Hist. 2.92, 3.36.) He must not be confounded with his contemporary Flavius Sabinus, the praefect of the city [SABINUS, FLAVIUS].
