(Ῥοιμητάλκης), king of Thrace, was the son of Rhascuporis [No. 2] and nephew of the preceding. On the deposition of his father, whose ambitious projects he had opposed, Rhoemetalces shared with the sons of Cotys [No. 5] the kingdom of Thrace. He remained faithful to Rome, and aided in putting down the Thracian malcontents in A. D. 26. Caligula, in A. D. 38, assigned the whole of Thrace to Rhoemetalces, and gave Armenia Minor to the son of Cotys. [COTYS, No. 6.] (D. C. 59.12; Tac. Ann. 2.67, 3.38, 4.5, 47, 11.9.) On the obverse of the annexed coin is the head of Caligula, and on the reverse that of Rhoemetalces.
