        <surname full="yes">No'vius</surname></persName></label></head><p>was banished by Nero, in <date when-custom="66">A. D. 66</date>, in consequence of his being a
      friend of <pb n="528"/> Seneca. He was accompanied in his exile by his wife Artoria Flacilla.
       (<bibl n="Tac. Ann. 15.71">Tac. Ann. 15.71</bibl>.) We learn from the Fasti that D. Novius
      Priscus was consul A. n. 78, in the reign of Vespasian. He was probably the same person as the
