      who is mentioned by Celsus (<hi rend="ital">De Med.</hi> 5.18.8, 8.9.1, pp. 86, 177), and
      must, therefore, have lived in or before the first century after Christ. He appears to have
      written a pharmaceutical work, as some of his prescriptions are several times quoted by Galen
       (<hi rend="ital">De Compos. Medicam. sec. Loc.</hi> 8.5, vol. xiii. pp. 184, 185, 186, <hi rend="ital">De Compos. Medicam. sec. Gen.</hi> 7.7, vol. xiii. p. 981), Aetius (2.4. 57, 3.1.
      34, 3.2. 14, pp. 415, 481, 530), Marcellus (<hi rend="ital">De Medicam.</hi> 100.20, p. 339),
      and Paulus Aegineta (<hi rend="ital">De Re Med.</hi> 3.68, 70, 74, 7.18, pp. 486, 487, 489,
