       <foreign xml:lang="grc">μουδικός</foreign>, was a writer on music. (<bibl n="Ath. 1.21">Athen. 1.21</bibl>f.) Athenaeus quotes two works by him, one entitled <title xml:lang="grc">Περὶ Αὐλητῶν</title> (xiv. p. 634d), and the other <foreign xml:lang="grc">Περὶ Μουσικῆς</foreign>, which consisted of two books at least (xiv. p.
      636b). He is the same person as <hi rend="ital">Phyllis</hi> (<foreign xml:lang="grc">Φύλλις</foreign>) <foreign xml:lang="grc">ὁ μουσικύς</foreign>, mentioned by the
      Scholiast on Aristophanes along with Aristoxenus (<hi rend="ital">ad Ran.</hi> 1337, <hi rend="ital">ad Vesp.</hi> 1231), and as <hi rend="ital">Phylles</hi> (<foreign xml:lang="grc">Φύλλης</foreign>) <foreign xml:lang="grc">ὁ μουσικός</foreign>, as he
      is called by Suidas. All the manuscripts of Athenaeus however exhibit the reading Phillis.
