      king of Pergamum [<hi rend="smallcaps">ATTALUS</hi> II.].</p><p>Philadelphus is also the name of one of the Deipnosophistae in Athenaeus, who calls him a
      native of Ptolemais, and describes him (i. p. 1) as a distinguished man in philosophical
