      <hi rend="smallcaps">MAGIUS</hi> (erroneously called in Caesar <hi rend="ital">Cn.</hi>
      Magius), of Cremona, was praefectus fabrum in the army of Pompey at the breaking out of the
      civil war in <date when-custom="-49">B. C. 49</date>. He was apprehended by Caesar's troops while he
      was on his journey to join Pompey at Brundisium, and Caesar availed himself of the opportunity
