      <hi rend="smallcaps">A. U.</hi> 516.) He is the first who is expressly recorded with the
      agnomen Caudinus: but as the Fasti are mutilated, it may have been assumed by his father. He
      was curule aedile (Vaillant, <hi rend="ital">Cornelii</hi> No. 18, <hi rend="ital">Papirii</hi> No. 1); Pontifex Maximus (<bibl n="Liv. 22.10">Liv. 22.10</bibl>); and as
      consul in <date when-custom="-237">B. C. 237</date>, he triumphed over the Ligurians. (<hi rend="ital">Fasti Cap. ;</hi>
