He died before Pliny. (<bibl n="Plin. Nat. 19.2.11">Plin. Nat. 19.2. s. 11</bibl>, 31.2. s. 18.) This must be the same
      person as the <hi rend="ital">Largius</hi> Licinius, spoken of by the younger Pliny (<bibl n="Plin. Ep. 2.14">Plin. Ep. 2.14</bibl>, <bibl n="Plin. Ep. 3.5">3.5</bibl>), who says that
      his uncle, when he was in Spain, could have sold his common place-book (<hi rend="ital">Electorum Commentarii</hi>) to Licinius, for 400,000 sesterces. If an inscription in Gruter
      (p. 180) be genuine, <hi rend="ital">Lartius</hi> must be the correct form of the name.</p></div></div></body></text></TEI>
