D. 73</date>, 74, the third and fourth years
      of Vespasian's reign. After the destruction of Jerusalem the emperor sent Laberius orders to
      offer for sale all the lands in Judaea. (Joseph. <hi rend="ital">Bell. Jud.</hi> 7.6.6.) A
      Laberius Maximus, whether the same is uncertain, was banished by Trajan on suspicion of
      aspiring to the purple (Spartian. <hi rend="ital">Hadrian.</hi> 5); and a person of the same
      name is mentioned by Martial (<bibl n="Mart. 6.14">Mart. 6.14</bibl>) and by Pliny (<bibl n="Plin. Ep. 10.16">Plin. Ep. 10.16</bibl>). </p><byline>[<ref target="author.W.B.D">W.B.D</ref>]</byline></div></div></body></text></TEI>
