Of <hi rend="smallcaps">CITRUS</hi> (now Kitro or Kidros), in Macedonia, the ancient
      Pydna. Joannes was bishop of Citrus about <date when-custom="1200">A. D. 1200</date>. He wrote
       <foreign xml:lang="grc">Ἀποκρίεσις πρὸς Κωνσταντῖνον Ἀρχιεπίσκοπον Δ̓υρραχίου
       τὸν Καβάσιλαν</foreign>. <hi rend="ital">Response ad Constantinum Cabasilum,
       Archiepiscopum Dyrrachii,</hi> of which sixteen answers, with the questions prefixed, are
      given with a Latin version in the <title>Jus Graeco-Romanum</title> of Leunclavius (fol.
      Frankfort, 1596), lib. v. p. 323. A larger portion of the <title>Responsa</title> is given in
      the <title>Synopsis Juris Graeci</title> of Thomas Diplouaticitus (Diplovatizio). Several MSS.
      of the <title>Responsa</title> contain twenty-four answers, others thirty-two; and Nic.
      Comnenus Papadopoli, citing the work in his <title xml:lang="la">Praenotiones
       Mystagogicae,</title> speaks of a hundred. In one MS. Joannes of Citrus has the surname of
      Dalassinus. Allatius, in his <title xml:lang="la">De Consensu,</title> and <hi rend="ital">Contra Hottingerum,</hi> quotes a work of Joannes of Citrus, <hi rend="ital">De
