      Euthynus, was distinguished as a pancratiast, and gained the <foreign xml:lang="grc">ἀριστεῖα</foreign> at the battle of Mycale, in <date when-custom="-479">B. C. 479</date>. He was
      slain in the war between the Athenians and Carystians, which took place about <date when-custom="-468">B. C. 468</date>. Pausanias mentions a statue of him in the Acropolis at Athens.
