17. A Carthaginian of noble birth, said by Livy to have been the chief instigator of the
revolt in Sardinia under Hampsicora during the second Punic war. He was taken prisoner,
together with the Carthaginian general, Hasdrubal, in the decisive action which put an end to
the war in that island,
