Of Rhegium, sometimes mentioned merely as of Italy, wrote on the ancient poets and
      musicians (<foreign xml:lang="grc">σύγγραμμά τι περὶ τῶν ἀρχαίων ποιητῶν τε καὶ
       μουσικῶν</foreign>, Plut. <hi rend="ital">de Music.</hi> 4, p. 1132e.). Diogenes Laertius
      quotes statements of his respecting Empedocles and Democritus, and says that he was
      contemporary with Democritus (8.52, 9.38). Glaucus is also quoted in the argument to the
      Persae of Aeschylus. (<foreign xml:lang="grc">Γλαῦκος ἐν τοῖς περὶ Αἰσχύλου
