      Joannes I. Palaeologus, during his minority. Having insulted the Magnus Domesticus, Joannes
      Cantacuzenus, and fearing his vengeance, he was led to join the party of Apocaucus, and took
      part in the war against Cantacuzenus (<date when-custom="1341">A. D. 1341</date> ). Having become
      weary of the war, or of his party, he accused Apocaucus of mismanagement and was in
