Among
      Cicero's letters there are several (<hi rend="ital">ad Fam.</hi> 7.23-27) which are addressed
      to M. Fadius. It seems that during the civil war he belonged to the party of Caesar, and
      fought under him as legate in Spain in <date when-custom="-49">B. C. 49</date>.</p><div><head>Confusion about his name</head><p> It should be observed that in most editions of Cicero his name is wrongly given as M.
