      the old comedy, contemporary with Aristophanes and Philyllius. Only one line of his is
      preserved, from his play <foreign xml:lang="grc">Ἄντεια</foreign>, which was also
      attributed to Philyllius. The title is taken from the courtezan, Anteia, who is mentioned by
      Demosthenes (<hi rend="ital">c. Neuer.</hi> p. 1351) and Ananandrides (apud <hi rend="ital">Athen.</hi> xv. p. 570e.) and who was also made the subject of comedies by Alexis and
      Antiphanes. There was also a comeedy, entitled <title xml:lang="grc">Πόλεις</title>, which
      was variously ascribed to Aristophanes, Philyllius, and Eunicus. The name of this poet is
      sometimes given incorrectly <foreign xml:lang="grc">Αἴνικος</foreign>. (Suid. s. v.
