      gained a victory in the foot-race in Ol. <hi rend="smallcaps">XCIII.</hi> (<date when-custom="-408">B. C. 408</date>), and in the chariot-race in 01. <hi rend="smallcaps">CIV.</hi> (<date when-custom="-364">B. C. 364</date>). There is considerable doubt as to the name. Diodorus calls
      him <foreign xml:lang="grc">Εὔβατος</foreign>, Xenophon <foreign xml:lang="grc">Εὐβότας</foreign> ; nor is it quite clear whether Pausanias, where he mentions him,
      speaks of two victories gained at different Olympiads, or of a double victory gained on the
