      Gesner and others are of opinion that Ergias is the same person as Erxias, who was the author
      of <foreign xml:lang="grc">Κολοφωνιακά</foreign>. (<bibl n="Ath. 13.561">Athen.
       13.561</bibl>.) But which of the two names, Ergias or Erxias, is the correct one, cannot be
