C. 47</date>), in which he is spoken of as <pb n="613"/> a man of great
      military skill. (Hirt. <hi rend="ital">B. Alex.</hi> 31.) He was tribune of the plebs at the
      time of Caesar's death (<date when-custom="-44">B. C. 44</date>); and as he was a supporter of the
      aristocratical party, and an opponent of Antony, was excluded from the senate by the latter on
