      employed by Agathocles and Sosibius, ministers of Ptolemy IV. (Philopator) to superintend the
      provision of arms and the choice and training of the troops when Egypt was threatened with war
      by Antiochus the Great in <date when-custom="-219">B. C. 219</date>. Cnopias is said by Polybius to
