D. 10</date>, preserved the Roman army from total destruction after the death

      2.120</bibl>.) He is probably the same as the L. Nonius Asprenas who was consul <date when-custom="6">A. D. 6</date>, and as the L. Asprenas mentioned by Tacitus, who was proconsul of
      Africa at the death of Augustus, <date when-custom="14">A. D. 14</date>, and who, according to some
      accounts, sent soldiers, at the command of Tiberius, to kill Sempronius Gracchus. (<bibl n="Tac. Ann. 1.53">Tac. Ann. 1.53</bibl>.) He is mentioned again by Tacitus, under <date when-custom="20">A. D. 20</date>. (<hi rend="ital">Ann.</hi> 3.18.)</p></div></div></body></text></TEI>
