Of <hi rend="smallcaps">CLAZOMENAE</hi>, is mentioned by Aelian (<bibl n="Ael. NA 12.38">Ael. NA 12.38</bibl>) as the author of <foreign xml:lang="grc">ὅροι
       Κλαζομυένιοι</foreign>, in which he mentioned that, at one time, the territory of
      Clazomenae was ravaged by a winged sow. Suidas (<hi rend="ital">s. v.</hi>
      <foreign xml:lang="grc">Ἀρκτῖνος</foreign>) ascribes to him a work on Homer (<foreign xml:lang="grc">περὶ Ὁμήρου</foreign>), of which, however, not a trace is now
