D. 170</date> and onwards), wrote an " Apology for the Christian faith" (<foreign xml:lang="grc">λόγοι ὑπὲρ τῆς πίστεως ἀπολογίας</foreign>) to the emperor M.
      Antoninus. He also wrote against the Jews and the Gentiles, and against the heresies of the
