D. 41</date>-<date when-custom="54">54</date>, who is said by Pliny (<bibl n="Plin. Nat. 29.8">Plin. Nat. 29.8</bibl>) to have been banished to Gaul, and to have been
      fined ten million of sesterces : <hi rend="ital">H. S. centies cent. mill.</hi> (about
       78,125<hi rend="ital">l.</hi>). After his return from banishment, he is said to have gained
      by his practice an equal sum within a few years, which, however, seems so enormous (compare
       <hi rend="smallcaps">ALBUCIUS</hi> and <hi rend="smallcaps">ARRUNTIUS</hi>), that there must
      probably be some mistake in the text. A surgeon of the same name, who is mentioned by Martial
