      was the chief magistrate (<hi rend="ital">Prytanis</hi>) of the Rhodians, on the breaking out
      of the war between Rome and Perseus in <date when-custom="-171">B. C. 171</date>, and recommended
      his countrymen to espouse the side of the Romans. He was sent as ambassador to Rome in <date when-custom="-169">B. C. 169</date>, and to the consul Aemilius Paullus in Macedonia, <date when-custom="-168">B. C. 168</date>.
